I’m Katie (she/her).

I’ve worked with authors, bookstores, and publishers over for ten years. I graduated from Emerson College with a BA in Writing, Literature, and Publishing. At the end of my four year tenure in corporate publishing at Hachette Book Group, I co-ran a crowdfunding campaign to open an independent bookstore in Jamaica Plain. Papercuts J.P. was opened in 2016, and I became the Marketing + Events Director. There I co-founded a small press for which I shepherded four books through the publishing process, including editing and publicity. I also fostered a community of readers and ran a successful events series.

Though I left the store to work as a Marketing, Sales, and E-commerce Manager of the publishing operation at a legal non-profit, I remained involved in Boston’s book culture, working with indie bookstores, small presses, and authors on creative collaborations.

I’m now based in Covington, KY, and I work with authors and bookstores on various types of projects. My experience in event production and book publishing has made me an expert in strategic planning, project management, and creating a buzz. I love to be involved in the process of bringing an idea to life—from refining the idea, to raising the funds, to publicizing and marketing the project.

“I met Katie three years ago when she took on my first book with fierce collaborative energy, smarts and aggressive, albeit considerate editing. She is on top of any task, is an astute listener and reader as well as a consistently reliable good-as-her-word achiever. No one could have gotten my first ever book published as effectively as she. One phenomenal woman.” —Rick Berlin, author of The Paragraphs

”There are a lot of people who know books and bookselling. There are a lot of people who know marketing. There are a lot of people who understand the logistics and execution of running an event. But there are an infinitesimally small number of people who know all three. Katie Eelman is one of those rare people.” —Paul Swydan, owner of The Silver Unicorn Bookstore
